The experience of Saturn is very similar to what Hegel describes as the 'Beautiful Soul' in 'The Phenomenology of Spirit': This soul lacks the power to externalize itself… the power to realize itself and endure existence. And to preserve the purity of its heart, it flees from reality and persists in a state of deliberate impotence at the last point of abstraction, renouncing an individual self... In other words: it struggles to convert its thought into being and dedicates itself to the absolute separation between thought and existence.
Life under the influence of Saturn is an endless imitation and rehearsal, filled with boredom, a long, long wait. The way we describe it demands a lot, and we hear all our conversations, informing us that we have yet to start, returning to ourselves, we are the prey of time and the Devil (Saturn).
Many of you are already familiar with the astrological nature of Saturn, but let's review: Saturn, or Chronos time, governs form and the physical in all aspects. Saturn is limitation, and thus, the greatest limiter. Saturn (also called the Devil) is said to be the prince of the material world. Saturn is the narrowness that allows the sensation of rolling down the chute or sluice through the waters of life (Jupiter = the route).
Jupiter is the path that the blood takes, 'the way we go,' but Saturn is the resistance, the arterial route walls, that builds pressure towards a certain 'feeling.'
Shaping Saturn
Saturn is like a wood shaper set to produce a specific piece of pattern. Any wood presented to this shaper has no choice but to pass through, and can only pass if it conforms to the shape determined by the boundaries. All other wood gets shaved off. In this metaphor, Saturn is that limiter, and we are the wood. It defines infinity or the real limits and Saturn is the shaper of form or the mold. When we talk about 'getting in line' or 'fitting in' or 'conforming,' we are talking about entering into an already existing control. In this sense, Saturn helps to determine the shape of things to come. All these laws of Saturn working together are 'form.'
Most modern astrology is presented only with Saturn, the Devil, or the measurement of time. The Devil or Saturn is just one of the planets but as Christianity clearly states: The Devil is the prince of time and the material world. We must clearly state that enlightenment experience in the awareness (spiritual awareness) of infinity and eternal life (the greater life we all share) is defined as the overcoming of time (or Saturn). However, the planet Saturn only governs our physical form and the laws of time. Unfortunately, much of modern astrology is so materialistic that all planets can only be seen through the prism of time and the physical, that is, materialistic or Saturnine aspects. In the esoteric or mystical tradition of planets, only the planet Saturn has been evaluated from a physical perspective. All other planets have their own planes and spheres, and while they are interdependent with the physical (Saturn), they are separate from it. Without the dominion of materialism I just mentioned, we must take the time to describe what a kind of divine astrology would be like, without at least, and I see no harm in using biblical expressions and definitions here because their usage fits the reality we will discuss here. Astrology not based on materialism would be as follows:
Non-Materialistic Astrology: The solar system as a whole or as a single being is an infinite Tree of Life, and Saturn or time is just a part or just one planet within this process, but dealing with Saturn is said to be very important for knowing God (as stated in holy scriptures). Saturn or time has always been the first key to real awareness and entry into infinity, that is, beyond time. Before we start working on Saturn or time, I must briefly inform you about non-materialistic astrology or, in other words, Celestial Astrology.
Celestial Astrology is astrology that is beyond time or freed from time, where time is just one of the parts.
Our solar system's Tree of Life is like a huge horn with countless branches, an infinite tree of life bestowing limitless life. This bestowed life is always fresh and always present, and this presence continues forever, and this is eternal life. The life bestowed by our solar system never dies or ends, it lives as new and fresh as it has always lived and will continue to live. This eternal life is what we must always wait for and what we always have.
Astrology is a description of this Tree of Life. The Book of Revelation in Christianity clearly states this concept. Revelation (22:1) says: 'The angel showed me the River of the Water of Life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the Throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the Tree of Life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations...'
And further: 'Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may go through the gates into the city.' If we do not realize this Tree of Life now, because as it is written: We did not clean our robes. In Genesis (3:24), 'He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.'
The Sun is the symbol of this eternal life, and the center or throne around which everything else revolves. The Sun and Moon are astrologically called 'the Lights,' and there is a good reason for this. The Sun is the 'Flaming Sword' that turns every way to guard (not block) the way to the Tree of Life. The Sun is the living sign of 'the Lord of All Creation.' And the same Sun is the deafening explosion of what we call the silent life of nature. This endless creation explosion is our Sun's ceaseless radiation and production of light. This radiance is the trumpet of the Lord of Creation that constantly blows in our minds day and night.
